After breakfast a visit to the Valley of the Kings, also called the Valley of the Gates of the Kings. For a period of nearly 500 years, from the 16th to11th century BC, tombs were constructed there for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor), within the heart of the Theban Necropolis.
Afterwards we will visit the nearby Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This mortuary temple is dedicated to the sun god Amun-Ra and is located next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II. Afterwards we will drive back to Embark our Luxury Nile Cruise. Lunch on-board. Tea Time at the sundeck.
